Don't you love discovering a hidden gem? Now I know this building well, as I live very close to it, and visited often when it was once a restaurant. I was taken around by the sweet Shona, who is the Food & Events Coordinator. I could see that this gorgeous building dating back to the 1820's has so much potential, and I am thrilled to discover that this grand building has been revamped to its original charm. The gardens have been re-landscaped and once where a car-park stood, are lush green lawns, a rose arch, white and pink roses, a fish bond and purple wild sage. Inside, the building has been given a face-lift, doors sanded, twinkling chandeliers and striking artwork placed. This has been revamped by catering company Food Fanatics, who are located on site, which is perfect for a wedding reception or function!
What I love about this property is that it is eco-conscious too! They have their own herb and vegetable garden set amongst lemon trees. They compost on site and they have a worm farm and they recycle. They also work with locally sourced produce, and their dishes are a feast for the eyes, and taste buds of course!
This is a stunning venue for a wedding or birthday party. It can hold an intimate function inside and a larger garden wedding on the lawns under a stretch tent.
